Plot Summary:
A professional linguist (Dr. Louise Banks) is hired by the military to assist in translating the new arrival of alien ships landing across the world. Through many trials of either the Military causing a stir, world leaders acting on the situation without communication, and the unpredictability of the aliens, Banks and her partner must work ahead of everyone else in order to maintain peace. After many hours and days of research and connection, they eventually learn the language and are able to communicate basic words across. When the military attempts to destroy the aliens after what appears to be written by the aliens a request for 'offer weapon', causing a scare and a response of explosives. Barnes and her partner work towards quickly fixing the situation by entering the ship one last time. As the explosives go off, Barnes is sent to the aliens, who gift her with their language. Ultimately Barnes was now able to travel time and speak more wholesomely with this newfound language.
Film Review:
This film whilst being slow to progress the story, felt like it needed to be taken slowly to fully grasp the complete sense given off from the stressful and confusing situation. It was great to see a non-typical alien invasion type movie where the aliens are actually just stable and not acting/here to destroy the world, rather assist us. I think this film tells quite a potentially realistic storyline if aliens were to exist, and I'm sure would entertain the minds of believers of aliens. The clever integration of professional characters and showing their work to solve along the way again provides quite a unique realistic perspective, accompanied by either ambient or no music at most times. I highly recommend this film!
Spiciness: Super Spicy!
