Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone: Film Review
Plot Summary
Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone is the beginning of the magical world created by J.K Rowling. Being the first film of the series the audience are introduced to the main three characters; Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley as well as the magical boarding school for witches and wizards they attend called Hogwarts. Its not until Harry's 11th birthday that he begins receiving mysterious letters which his horrid uncle destroys, without giving Harry the chance to view them. As a result of continuous letters for Harry the Dursleys decide to move to a remote island in the hope of escape. This is until Hagrid, a massive wizard from Hogwarts comes to offer Harry the opportunity to study magic and begin his new life as a wizard. It is during the train ride to Hogwarts that Harry is introduced to Ron and Hermione (his future best friends) and the trio begins the magical adventure together. Harry finds out that he is famous amongst the magical world and is faced with numerous challenges in which the three work together.
Review
Being the first of the famous Harry Potter series I find it to be my favourite of all. I enjoyed it as it is the first time that we are introduced to the characters as well as the magical school Hogwarts and all its occupants that come with it. I enjoy the adventure that J.K Rolwing's takes the audience on from the very beginning and how we (the audience) are able to watch the trio grow and work together throughout their first year of schooling life.
It is fun and engaging and a great way to start the Harry Potter journey. For this I give the film a "Very Spicy" rating.
