Kingsmen: The Secret Service - Review

Plot Summary:

Kingsmen is about a young man (Eggsy) who's father died through patriotic acts for his country from a secret service. Eggsy is given a necklace which allows him one favour, being the surprise of being inducted into such secret service. Through his training Eggsy finds himself being highly regarded by his mentor - Harry. After much concern of new technology, the company 'Valentine' releases a free new sim card which is implanted, and allows him control of each individual with such sim card. After being eliminated from being in the running for joining the service, he is re-recruited by his mentor to assist shutting down Valentine's new destructive service. After many encounters with Valentine testing his service and causing disorientation within the Kingsmen, they come up with a plan to shut it down before it is too late. Through incorporating an elaborate plan with his friend who was inducted into Kingmen, 'Roxy', they successfully shut down the service and kill both Valentine and his accomplice.

Film Review:

Through incorporating the perfect balance of comedy with action, this film successfully touched many different audiences of the movie, providing consistent variation in the story line. I found it interesting how it was a different approach on secret service type films that you typically see such as 'White House Down', where it is all intense action and always just protecting the president. It was nice to see a new style of spy movie with threats external to just protecting the royal family or president. Through integrating non-typical characters such as Valentine's accomplice 'Gazelle' with blades as feet, it kept a sense of uneasiness throughout the film not knowing when she would strike. All in all this film constantly kept me on my toes and I highly recommend watching it, especially with a sequel coming out later this year!
