Star Wars: The Force Awakens
10 years since the last major Star Wars Film, Director J.J Abrams returns the worlds biggest Movie franchise back to the big screen. A direct sequel to the 1983 'Star Wars: Return of the Jedi', The Force Awakens is the 1st of the revamped Star Wars sequel Trilogy.
The Force Awakens stars Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) Carrie Fisher (Princess/ General Leia), Adam Driver (Kilo Ren), Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) and Any Serkis (Supreme Leader).
Plot Summary
Set Thirty Years after the fall of the Galactic Empire and Darth Vader. Rising from the ashes of the Galactic Empire, 'The First Order' dominates the Galaxy, opposing the Resistance and General Leia, both in which are hunting down the location of Luke Skywalker. In the search for Luke Skywalker, a young Scavenger from Jakku named Ray finds herself caught up with a defected Storm trooper, Finn and a Resistance Astromech droid BB8 that holds coordinates to Luke Skywalker's whereabouts. Once word breaks out of Finns escape from the 'First Order' and a connection with BB8, Ray and Finn flee Jakku. Finn and Ray find themselves on the run from Kilo Ren, a Sith General of the First Order who is strong with the force and just as powerful with his lightsaber. Along the way they are aided by Han Solo and Chewbacca who take them to the resistance as well as teach them the ways of the Light and Dark side.
Review
Star Wars: the Force Awakens was the biggest movie of 2015, grossing a total of $2.066 Billion in the Box Office, and it is completely justifiable why. Although having very similar Plot points to Star Wars: A New Hope, the Force Awakens is a refreshing revamp of the Star Wars Universe and is enjoyable for everyone of all ages. For me, The Force Awakens ticks all the boxes to make a good film.. it was fun, exciting, had earn felt moments and brought justice to what the Star Wars universe is all about. The new Cast brings a spectacular performance and especially Kilo Ren who sets himself up to be a new Darth Vader.
Overall,I loved this film and I recommend it for everyone of all ages and interests.. thus I give it a Extremely Spicy Score.
